Elisa Cecchinato is the author of a PhD dissertation titled "Fire on the Harlem Renaissance. Black Cultural Identities, Desiring Agencies and the Disciplinary Episteme," defended in 2018 at the Université Gustave Eiffel (ex Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée), and written under the supervision of Jean-Paul Rocchi. During the redaction of her PhD, from 2012 to 2015, Elisa Cecchinato coordinated the Pole North East of the Institut des Amériques in Boston, where she was hosted by the History Department of Boston College. She is currently enrolled as ATER at the UFR Langues, Cultures et Sociétés of the Université Gustave Eiffel.
